-In Memory-

Our pastor, Brent Calvert, passed away on Saturday, June 18 around 4 PM at the age of 49. He fought an almost 2-year battle with cancer. He fought bravely and courageously. There were often times when it was hard to believe that he had any sickness in his body. He was one of the most giving people that we all knew and we were all blessed because of his generosity. He never stopped giving of himself even after things began to look grim, giving was truly a part of him. He passed on surrounded by family and friends, with prayer and with hymns being sung. We will not understand, in this life, why such a good man went through this suffering or why he passed at such a young age, leaving family and friends behind. But, we do know these things. That God is the Master of the universe and He does all things well. We know that he is no longer suffering, but is with the Lord, and we know that one day soon, we will meet him again.

Proverbs 14:32
When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.

Lamentations 3:31-33
For men are not cast off by the Lord forever.Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.
